LCL Container for Sea Shipping Services

We offer negotiable shipping terms for our clients and as a freight forwarder, we always ask the client what trade term was negotiable. This service is a starting point for knowing the client’s requirements. Our expert team guides you on your shipment needs and the LCL container or FCL.

Difference Between LCL and FCL Containers

Beware of the terms and differences before using LCL or FCL services. LCL is a method of transporting cargo using only a portion of the space in the container. For your convenience, we help you in the cost calculation of the shipping costs of LCL.

LCL(less than a container) is used to transport cargo whose volume is less than the volume of a whole container. Typically, for LCL cargo, 20 20-foot container size is used. You must use an LCL container if your cargo volume is only 1 M3. LCL depends on a charge to the size or weight of a cargo, whichever is greater.

FCL Container for Sea Shipping Services

Before calculating the break-even points, you must understand that there are different rules for calculating the cost of transportation for LCL or FCL. When delivering costs of LCL and FCL conditions, you need to pay attention to 4 points.

Dry Container

Typically used for general cargo shipments, the dry container serves as a box for transporting goods. On the product’s type, it is also used for dangerous cargo. This type of container is a standard type of container.

Reefer Container

A reefer container is a temperature-controlled container similar to moving a refrigerator. Most containers can maintain temperatures between minus 30 to plus 30 degrees Celsius, depending on the manufacturer and items. However, the temperature inside the container does not change. It is often used for perishable and dangerous products and items that require temperature control.

Open to Container

Open open-top container is similar to a dry cargo container without a ceiling. Since this container has no top ceiling, it is used for high loads. Typically, these are in containers we use for heavy loads and loads put inside through the top. Putting heavy loads like three to five tons through a forklift is difficult. We use cranes and tow trucks for this purpose.

Flat Rack Container

A flat rack is a dry cargo container without a top ceiling and side walls. It is used for wide cargo not fitting into the standard dry cargo container. It is not only used for oversized cargo but also for cargo that fits in the container and has heavy loads.

ISO Tank Container

ISO tank container is used for liquid materials, including juices, wines, and liquid chemicals.

Sizes of Containers

The size needed for practical operations is identical to the containers inside measurements. There are slight differences in the container sizes between the shipping lines. There are 20-foot containers, 40-foot containers, and 40-high cube containers that are usually used for different types of cargo shipments.
